[Castle in the Sky - 4] Water Problem

Kenneth left the club right after Clifton's departure.  This chase was beginning to take a toll on him. He climbed into the back seat of the Bentley and sat there, hand resting on the door-jab, fingers stroking his chin.  What if Eric was wrong? What if there was no winning Clifton?

"Sir?"

"Yes Michael?"

"Where are we heading?"

Kenneth jerked up and looked around to see they were still in the parking lot at the club. He smiled. "Sorry. Home please."

"Alrighty."

The car began moving. The best thing for him to go was go home and try getting some work done since he was supposed to be on vacation. Going back into the office was out of the question. His secretary would just frown, give him that disapproving look she always did when he refused to take time off and make him feel like a mess. He chuckled and shook his head. Maybe a real vacation was called for--take some time off lounging on a beach somewhere with a beer and hot cabana boys.

Back in his home he sat in the partially demolished room trying to figure out what his next step was. It was beginning to dawn on him there was something else to this cat and mouse game he was trying to play with Clifton. Each time he entered a room with the sexy construction man it was as if Kenneth sucked all the air out of said room. But he couldn't give up. He knew for sure he could make Cliftn happy even if the hard headed Chocolate man didn't see it.

Late, he climbed the stairs to his bed and since he couldn't sleep anyways so he sat in his bed going over the history of a security firm he wanted to hire to over-haul the security infrastructure in his building. But soon that was too much for his exhausted body and the next thing he knew it was morning and he'd fallen asleep with a bunch of notes on his chest.

The sound of construction could be hearf faintly seeping beneath the door and he arched a brow and looked at the clock. He wasn't expecting Clifton on a Sunday but his heart didn't race any less at the thought of the man. Sticking his feet out of bed, he was going to say hellp but then noticed he was wearing the same clothes he'd been wearing at the club. He frowned.  The last thing he wanted was for Cliftn to think he was some kind of all night party animal.

So he stopped took a breath and formed his plan.  He would shower, shave then go down and see if his worker wanted anything, maybe a cup of coffee, a bagel...

Me?

Shaking his head he settled on the shower. Halfway through, body partially covered in suds the water went off. He smacked the wall. "Come on!" Kenneth shouted. Then it hit him--"damn it! Clifton!"

Stepping from the bath-tub he wrapped a towel around his hips and dry his feet on a different towel. He then trudged through the house, muttering under his breath every profanity he could possibly think of.

"What is going on with the water?" Kenneth demanded as he barged into the construction area.

"Good morning, Mr. Roddick. It's good to see you again," Clifton replied without looking up from his work.

"I'm not being funny, Clifton."

He looked up then and tilted his head. "I didn't touch your water. So perhaps your slaves forgot to pay the bill."

Kenneth swore softly again. Who in the hell....he stopped. He took a breath and folded his arms. "What the hell is your problem anyways? Would it kill you to be at least a little civil?"

"You were the one who barged in here, half naked ranting and raving like a lunatic."

"A luna...This is not working for me."

Clifton's eyes took on a hot, puddle like colour and he merely gave Kenneth a once over. It was the kind of once over that left Kenneth praying a tent didn't form with the towel and that his body would behave. It was the look that left him trembling, wanting to scream and touch himself right there before Clifton's eyes. It was the kind of once over that left him naked and vulnerable without actually removing the towel.  A shock jerked down his spine and he sucked in some air.

"I-I should go. Can you try and figure out what happened to the water?....Please. I mean I can't walk around like this." Kenneth stressed his point by motioning to his sud covered chest. "Please?"

"Fine." Clifton cleared his throat and dropped the pliers he had in his hand to the floor.
